September BJP Done!!

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

I finished my first one! I'm really excited about this and pleased with the way it came out. I'm anxious now to start on October which I plan to do tomorrow. Aside from small bead kits, this is my first ever beaded project and I love it! Maybe I'll start October tonight . . .

A short explanation: Each month's heart will be based on a poem that I like. This month is from Emily Dickinson.

After great pain, a formal feeling comes -
The Nerves sit ceremonious, like Tombs -
The stiff Heart questions was it He, that bore,
And Yesterday, or Centuries before?

The Feet, mechanical, go round -
Of Ground, or Air, or Ought -
A Wooden way
Regardless grown,
A Quartz contentment, like a stone -

This is the Hour of Lead -
Remembered, if outlived,
As Freezing persons, recollect the Snow -
First--Chill--then Stupor--then the letting go -

Great job!! This is a lovely piece and I enjoyed the poem. The blue is a very soothing color. Don't get discouraged about being only in Sept. You have to August and beyond to catch up with the rest of us who are also behind.

This is a very cool piece. I love the effect of the bugle beads. Its an interesting look. I may need to copy it somehow. I like the idea of doing it based on a poem. You should be proud.Julie C

Lovely piece! Isn't it fun to work with a piece of poetry or literature that just spurs you on?

I love your interpretation of the poem with this heart.

Well done for keeping going and creating such a wonderful page. It looks like you have sew down each bead individually randomly but in contradiction, it is a very controlled piece, quite a feat.

Look forward to seeing your next page and don't worried about keeping up, just keep the joy going.

I see you've beautifully captured the wooden way, the chill, stupor and letting go ~ the whole sense of the poem... how fabulous!!! Your decision to use the heart shape to represent poems you love is such a good idea. Will you be doing any Mary Oliver poems?

I'm very proud of you and look forward to more!!!
